Abstract
In order to gain many information of rainstorm,based on normal meteorogical regulations and digital satellite and Doppler radar data,using the principle of meteorology and diagnostics,the cause of formation of a regional rainstorm in Ningxia on August 19,2004 and the physical mechanism were analysed.At the sametime,weather of rainstorm was simulated by MM5,The simulated result indicated that MM5 is available for forecasting strong rainfall.
