Abstract
Based on the analysis on the spatial and temporal distribution features of rainstorm in the urban district of Tianjin, the rainstorm formula is established and then the design rainstorm process is derived. The result shows that the maximum measured point precipitations are concentrated in the period from the last ten-day of July to the first ten-day of August, and the maximum point precipitations measured in different periods of time are more concentrated for the temporal distribution,of which the intensity of the rainstorm is larger in the urban district and has already reached the level of heavy rainstorm. This estimation on the process of the design rainstorm in the urban district can provide a basis for making the water-logging control planning by the authorities concerned.
