Research on the Effect of sodium valproate combined with olanzapine in the treatment of Male manic episodes of bipolar disorder

Objective To explore the effect and security of sodium valproate combined with olanzapine in the treatment of male manic episodes of bipolar disorder.Methods In our hospital,accordance with the United States of America diagnostic and Statistical Manual of mental disorders(DSM-IV),88 patients with bipolar disorder in male patients with acute manic episode,were randomly divided into two groups.The observation group was used of olanzapine combined with sodium valproate,the control group using quetiapine combined with sodium valproate.In the two groups,before treatment and 6 weeks after Bech,Rafaelsen Mania Rating Scale(BRMS) and the therapeutic effect was evaluated after treatment,side effects scale(TESS) assessment of safety evaluation.Results The observation group after 6 weeks of treatment,BRMS decreased significantly,the effective rate was higher than the control group;And the side effect is little and light.Conclusion Olanzapine combined with sodium valproate in the treatment of bipolar disorder,clinical efficacy and safety of manic episode,has reached the therapeutic effect of quetiapine recognized of bipolar disorder.
