Abstract
Objective To investigate the clinical effectiveness of massage combined with traction for cervical spondylosis of nerve root type. Methods Three hundred patients with cervical spondylosis of nerve root type treated in our hospital from July 2010 to November 2012 were selected as study objects. They were assigned into observation group and control group by random sampling, 150 cases in each group. The former was treated group was give massage combined with traction, while the later group was given traction therapy alone. After one course of treatment, the clinical effectiveness of both groups was compared. Results After treatment, the symptoms of both groups were significantly alleviated. In observation group, 106 cases were cured, 37 cases improved, 7 cases unsuccessfully treated, and the effective rate was 95.3%. While in control group, 73 cases were cured, 35 cases improved, 42 cases unsuccessfully treated, and the effective rate was 72.0%. The difference was statistically significant (P 0.05). Conclusion Massage combined with traction can effectively improve the microcirculation of human body, adjust the equilibrium of internal and external forces in human cervical, restore the normal structure of cervical, has exact and significant therapeutic effectiveness in treating cervical spondylosis of nerve root type.
