Abstract
Objective To investigate inpatients with drug resistance of nasopharyngeal Streptococcus. Methods We carried out the susceptibility test of 98 isolated strains of Streptococcus pneumoniae from Jan 2008 to Dec 2008.Results The resistance rate of penicillin was 8.2%,the oxacillin resistance rate was 77.6%,and those resistant to oxacillin were also resistant to erythromycin and lincomycin. Conclusion The antimicrobial resistance of Streptococcus pneumoniae increases rapidly and its resistance was high. Therefore,Bacteriological examination work and nosocomial infection surveillance should cover the followings:strengthening the monitoring of antimicrobial resistance of Streptococcus pneumoniae and taking reasonable and effective drug measures to reduce production of resistant strains.
