Abstract

Objective To survey the characteristic of nosocomial infections and antimicrobial resistance of Klebsiella pneumoniae(Kpn)isolates. Methods All the 76 Kpn strains were isolated and collected from nosocomial infections during Jul.2008 to Apr.2009.The production and antimicrobial susceptibility tests of bacteria were performed by using the analytical system of HX-21 identification and antimicrobial susceptibility of bacteria. Results All the 76 Kpn strains were 100% resistant to 21 antimicrobials including cefepime and imipenem to different degrees. The first five drugs of high resistant rate were ampicillin(92.1%)piperacillin(68.4%)cefazolin(56.6%)=cefuroxime(56.6%)cefoperaxone(51.3%).There were 23 isolates producing ESBLs(30.26%),which were susceptible to imipenem,chloramphenicol,cefoperazone/sulbactam but resistant to 18 other antimicrobials significantly. While the first six drugs of high susceptible rate were imipenem(78.3%)chloramphenicol(47.8%)cefoperazone/sulbactam(30.5%)cyclomycin(17.4%)=levofloxacin(17.4%)=chemitrim(17.4%).Conclusion Nosocomial Kpn isolates are most multidrug resistant.Antimicrobial should be selected according to drug sensitiveness and combining with characteristic of drug resistance of the bacteria.
