Abstract

The effcts of corocinnarine(Cor)on hemorrheology during myocardial ischemia were studied in an anesthetized rat model. The results showed that an intravenous injection of 5mg·kg-1 corocinnarine, 3 min, before ligation, can significantly reduce the whole blood viscosity at low-middle-as well as high-shear rate.It can also reduce the haematocrit, plasma viscosity, plasma fibrinogen and shorten the time of electrophoresis of RBC.That is tosay, the injection before ligation can prevent the alteration of the above parameters. These results suggest that Cor can reduce the whole blood viscosity and plasma viscosity and thus improve the microcirculation. These effects are probably related to the reducting of hematocrit, improving erythrocyte deformability, shortening electrophretic time of red blood cells, inhibiting erythrocyte aggregation, reducing fibrinogen and effecting the concentration of Ca2+.
