Abstract
The synthesis of isobutyl p-hydroxybenzoate over different catalysts was investigated,and the optimal synthetic condition was determined.The results showed that isobutyl p-hydroxybenzoate with high yield and high quality could be achieved over sodium bisulfate monohydrate catalyst in the presence of a small quantity of active carbon.When the amount of sodium bisulfate monohydrate was 2.0 g,the dosage of active carbon was 0.25 g,mole ratio of isobutyl alcohol to hydroxybenzoic acid was 3.0,and reaction time was 5 h,the highest isobutyl p-hydroxybenzoate yield of 90.7% could be attained.
