Abstract
Aim:The LOH study was performed to locate the deletion areas probably harboring tumor suppressor genes and provide clues for discovering tumor suppressor genes. Methods: Nine polymorphic microsatellite markers on chromosome 10q in l0 cases of glioblastoma (GBM) were analyzed to detect LOH by PCR based technique. Results: 90% informative cases of GBM displayed LOH on 10q. The most frequent LOH were observed at loci from D10s2492 to D10s54l on 10q~(23) and from D10s1723 to D10s216 on 10q~(25-26). Conclusion: The chromosomal regions at loci from D10s2492 to D10s541 on 10q~(23) and from D10s1723 to D10s216 on 10q~(25-26) may harbor tumor suppressor genes associated with GBM.
