Clinical Research on Modified Qinghao Biejia Decoction for Fever of Advanced Lung Cancer

Abstract

OBJECTIVE To investigate the therapeutic effects of Modified Qinghao Biejia Decoction for fever of advanced lung cancer and its assistance to improve patients' quality of life.METHODS 64 cases conforming to the experimental standard were equally randomized into treatment group given 1 bag of Modified Qinghao Biejia Decoction a day,bid for 7 days as a course;and control group taking Celecoxib capsules 0.2 g,bid in the same period to observe patients' temperature and their KPS.RESULTS The effective rate and the percentage of patients with KPS ≥ 10 in treatment was 65.7% and 46.9%,higher than 59.4%(P0.05) and 9.4%(P0.05) of control group.Treatment group did not show any toxic side effects,either.CONCLUSION The effective rate of treatment group using Modified Qinghao Biejia Decoction is conspicuous higher than that of Celecoxib group.It also plays a significant role in improving patients' quality of life without side effects.
