Clinical value of autologous blood transfusion in orthopedic surgery

Objective: To investigate the application value of autologous blood transfusion in major orthopedic operation and hemorrhage due to orthopedic trauma.Methods: Autologous blood transfusion was done in the operation of 50 patients using Z-2000A autologous blood recovery system.Retrospective analysis of the data of Hemoglobin(HB),hematocrit(HCT),platelet(PC),platelet activated partal thromboplast in time(APTT) of preoperation and postoperation was made.Results: The total bleeding quantity of the 50 patients was 75400 ml,and the total autologous blood transfusion volume was 44750 ml.No autologous blood transfusion complications occurred in 49 cases,while one case exhibited DIC.Conclusion: Autologous blood transfusion can effectively reduce blood loss in orthopedic major surgery and reduction of homologous blood transfusion,which is one kind of economic,secure,and practical techniques of blood conservation.
