Drug resistance of ureaplasma urealyticum from patients with non-gonococcal urethritis

Abstract

OBJECTIVE To investigate the infection status and drug-resistance in Ureaplasma urealyticum(Uu) from patients with non-gonococcal urethritis(NGU),and to provide the scientific bases for the clinical application of antibiotics.METHODS The Uu cultivation and drug susceptibility tests were performed for 2478 patients with NGU by bioMerieux Mycoplasma IST2 kit.RESULTS The total positive detection rate of Uu was 55.0%.The rates of drug sensitivity to quinolones,such as ciprofloxacin(5.5%) and ofloxacin(26.0%),were the lowest.The rates of drug sensitivity to pristinamycin(100.0%),doxycycline(100.0%) and josamycin(98.0%) were higher,but to erythromycin,tetracycline,azithromycin and clarithromycin were between 69.0-93.0%.CONCLUSION There is higher infection rate of Uu in NGU.The drug-resistance of Uu to quinolones are serious.
