Abstract
【Objective】To study the relationship between polymorphisms of E-selectin gene with coronary heart disease of Han population in northern China.【Methods】The +G98T polymorphism in the exon 2 of E-selectin gene was detected by polymorphisms chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism(PCR-RFLP) analysis and DNA sequencing among 176 patients with coronary heart disease of Han people in northern China and 152 healthy controls. The effects of E-selectin genotypes on serum lipids variation were analyzed. The serum level of E-selectin was determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).【Results】There was significant difference in frequencies of allele and genotype in +G98T polymorphism between coronary heart disease and control groups,respectively(χ2=4.628,P =0.031).The relative risk suffered from coronary heart disease of GT genotype was 2.221 times of the GG genotype(OR=2.221,95% CI=1.001~4.595).Allele T was higher than allele G with significant difference(χ2=4.351,P =0.037,OR=2.124,95% CI=1.047~4.310).【Conclusion】E-se1ectin +G98T polymorphism was associated with coronary heart disease, and allele T may be a genetic risk factor of coronary heart diseases among Han people, the E-selectin GT genotype carriers maybe different in different region and different race which results in coronary heart disease in some degree.
