Abstract
Objective To evaluate the effect of measles supplementary immunization activities(SIA) in Chengdu in 2008.Methods The data of field survey,rapid assessment report and case-based information of Measles Surveillance System were analyzed.Results Totally 1 678 854 targeted children were inoculated during the SIA,with reported coverage rate and estimated coverage rate over 98% respectively.Of the 357 measles cases were reported in 2008,227 cases were laboratory confirmed,with an incidence rate of 2.24/ 105,which declined 69.49% as compared with previous year.Conclusion Great achievement has been made on measles control and prevention by measles SIA in Chengdu,and the incidence of measles declined dramatically.
