Observation of vertebro-basilar artery insufficiency vertigo treated by combination of traditional Chinese medicine with Western medicine

Objective To observe the effect of vertebro-basilar artery insufficiency vertigo treated by combination of traditional Chinese medicine with Western medicine.Methods 90 patients with vertebro-basilar artery insufficiency vertigo were randomly divided into two groups.Patients in control group (n=30) were treated by Flunarizine Hydrochloride Capsules,10mg,once a day.60 cases in treatment group were treated by combination of Flunarizine Hydrochloride Capsules and Qingyun decoction.The course in two groups was four weeks.After a course,the effect,mean flow velocity of vertebral artery and basilar artery were observed.Results The total effective rate in treatment group (96.7%) was higher than that in control group (66.7%,P0.01).The mean flow velocity of vertebral artery and basilar artery after treatment was enhanced in two groups (P0.05).The improvement of mean flow velocity of vertebral artery and basilar artery in treatment group was superior to that in control group (P0.05).High-and low-shear whole blood viscosity,plasma viscocity,Fibrinogen and Erythrocyte aggregation index in treatment group were decreased obviously after treatment (P0.05,P0.01).Erythrocyte deformability was increased significantly (P0.01).Conclusion The combination of Qingyun decoction and Flunarizine Hydrochloride Capsules has definite effect on vertebro-basilar artery insufficiency vertigo.
