Abstract

Obstract To investigate the clinical value of multi-slice spiral CT in diagnosis of medial orbital wall fracture.MethodsThe characteristics of 114 patients with burst medial orbital wall fracture who underwent multi-slice spiral CT imaging were retrospectively analyzed. There were 88 males,26 females, aged between 14 and 68 years including 64 cases at the right side,42 cases at the left side and 8 cases at bilateral sides. Results Among the 114 patients with medial orbital wall fracture, there were 22 cases showing the fracture line,78 cases of partial orbital wall retraction,14 cases of angular misalignment,74 cases of medial rectus muscle enlargement accompanied by medial wall fracture,48 cases of pneumatosis in eyelid or orbital,84 cases of sinus fluid and 16 cases of ocular or orbital fat herniation.ConclusionMulti-slice spiral CT can clearly determine the types of medial orbital wall fracture and changes of surrounding tissues. It has important clinical value for diagnosis and treatment of medial orbital wall fracture.
