Abstract

Objective To investigate the clinical diagnostic value of multi-slice spiral CT for the medial orbital wall fracture. Methods Retrospective analysis was taken on characteristics of multi-slice spiral CT image of 57 cases with medial orbital wall fracture. Results In 57 cases with medial orbital wall fracture, there were 11 cases with fracture line,39 cases with part of medial orbital wall invagination and 7 cases with angular displacement. There were 37 cases with medial orbital wall fracture accompanied by medial rectus enlargement,24 cases with eyelid or orbital pneumatosis,42 cases with ethmoid sinus hydrops and 8 cases with ocular or orbital fat herniated. Conclusions Multi-slice spiral CT can clearly determine types of medial orbital wall fracture and changes of surrounding tissues. It has important clinical value for diagnosis of medial orbital wall fracture, and provides a reliable basis for treatment.
