HRCT Diagnosis and Clinical Value of Fracture of Pure Medial Orbital Wall

Objective To evaluate HRCT scanning in the diagnosis and clinical value of the fracture of pure medial orbital wall.Materials and Methods According to classified method of CT shape of pure medial orbital wall fracture in Institute of Orbital Diseases,the General Hospital of the Armed Police Force,CT findings in 35 patients (29 males and 6 females) with fracture of pure medial orbital wall were retrospectively analyzed.HRCT was done in all cases.Results The fracture was located at orbital medial margin in one case;and blowout fracture of pure medial orbital wall at ethmoidal orbital lamina in 34 cases.9 cases were fracture in arc state,20cases were alive valve fracture,3 cases were cracked fracture of pure medial orbital wall,and 2 cases were pierced fracture.Conclusion HRCT scanning can well demonstrate the anatomy of medial orbital wall and precisely display the direct and indirect signs of the fracture of medial orbital wall as well as its complications.Reasonable classification of fractue of pure medial orbital wall have significantce in the diagnosis and treatment.
