Abstract

Objective To observe the clinical therapeutic effects of Tangbikang decoction with intensive insulin therapy and mecobalamin on diabetic peripheral neuropathy(DPN).Methods 80 DPN cases were randomly divided into two groups:control group and treatment group, every group includes 40 cases.Intensive insulin therapy and mecobalamin were all provided in two groups. On this basis,Tangbikang decoction was adopted in treatment group. The course of treatment was 12 weeks. It was to observe the change of the total scores(clinical nerve effects, nerve reflex and sensory function) and nerve conduction velocity after treatment in two groups. Results Between the two groups, there was statistically significant difference(P 0.05) in therapeutic effect. There was statistically significant difference(P 0.05) between before and after treatment of each group in the total scores and nerve conduction velocity, and also between groups of treatment and control in the total scores and nerve conduction velocity. Conclusion The therapy of combination Tangbikang decoction with intensive insulin therapy and mecobalamin has definite effect on diabetic peripheral neuropathy.
