Abstract

Objective To investigate the hemorheologic effect of congling capsule on blood stasis due to cold stagnation in SD rat model. Methods SD rat models were induced by subcutaneous injection of epinephrine hydrochloride and immersed in ice water. Changes in blood viscosity, plasma viscosity, hematocrit and erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) were observed, with hydergine as control drug. Results As compared with control group, congling capsule significantly decreased blood viscosity, plasma viscosity and hematocrit (P0.05 or P0.01). There was no significant difference in hemorrheologic effect of high dose congling capsule and hydergine (P0.05).Conclusion Congling capsule can effectively improve microcirculation. Congling Capsule is an effective Chinese herbal preparation in improving microcirculation.
