Abstract
Objective To explore the diagnostic value of colorectal carcinomas by combined detection of the preoperative serum CEA,CA19-9 and CA72-4.Methods Serum levels of CEA,CA19-9 and CA72-4 in 173 cases of colorectal carcinomas and 44 cases of benign colorectal diseases were determined by using electro-chemiluminescence immunoassay (ECLIA).Results The results showed that the serum levels of CEA,CA19-9 and CA72-4 were significantly higher in the colorectal carcinoma group than those in the benign colorectal diseases group (P0.01).The positive rate of CEA,CA19-9 and CA72-4 in combination was 54.9%, higher than the combination of CEA and CA72-4 (52.6%) ,CEA and CA19-9 (50.9%), and CA19-9 and CA72-4 (28.3%).Conclusion Appropriate combination of tumor markers may raise positive rates in diagnosing colorectal cancer. For saving money, CEA alone or the combination of CEA and CA72-4 are the choice of detection.
