Abstract

Objective To explore the manifestation of central neurocytoma on MRI. Methods The MRI data of 6 cases of central neurocytomas were analyzed retrospectively. Result All the lesions were located in the anterior-middle portion of the lateral ventricles near Monro foramen. Five cases were broadly attached to the septem pellucidum bottoms and one case slightly adhered to the septum pellucidum bottom. The tumors were heterogeneous on MRI. The solid parts of the tumors are isointense and hypointense signals on T1WI. In the borders of the tumors there were multiple cysts and strip-like structures, which adhered to the ventricle walls. MRI enhancement scan showed that there was greatly varied intensification from slight to intense. Hemorrhage occurred in 1 cases of tumor. Conclusion It is suggested that the central neurocytoma should be considered when a tumor was located at the anterior-middle portion of the lateral ventricles near Monro foramen in young patients.
