Abstract

Objective This study was carried out to evaluate the effectiveness and merits of loop electrosurgical excision procedure(LEEP) for the treatment of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia(CIN).Methods Retrospective analysis was performed in 78 CIN patients from June 2007 to December 2010,who were distinguished by clinic three-step diagnosis. Those women willing undertook LEEP treatment with ectocervical and endocervical excision, after resection all tissues were detected by histopathological analysis. Results The pathological results in LEEP tissues were largely consistent with the result of multiple biopsies under colposcope at rate of 79.2%.By compared, some pathological changes were more severe than that in biopsies, but some others not.Six CIN cases were more lighter than that in biopsies and 11 cases were severe than that in biopsies,Meanwhile, two CIN cases were diagnosed as invasive cancer and three CINⅡ cases was determined as CINⅢ,using LEEP pathological analysis. Conclusion LEEP conization could be well developed in diagnosis of CIN and carcinoma in situ.In addition,it was helpful to prevent the development of infiltrating carcinoma and promote the diagnosis ability.LEEP conization was a safe and cost effective procedure with a lower complication rate,as well as capable of maintain the eugenesis of CIN women and played a very important role in diagnosis and treatment of CIN.
