Analysis and Evaluation of Cite Sources of Chinese Journal of Oncology

Objective By analyzing the citation of Chinese Journal of Oncology,to find out its regularity and the authors' ability to capture and utilize information.Methods Using Wanfang database to retrieval and Excel to analysis the citation origins and the publication date of the1136 papers which published during 2005～2008 of Chinese Journal of Oncology.Results There are 999 papers with citation during the last four years.The citing rate is 87.94 percent;the mean citation of each paper is 10.16 pieces;and self-cited rate is 11.73%;English literature is the main information sources of the journal,accounted for 73.90% of total citation.Over the past four years the average of Price Index is 48.96%.Conclusion This journal's citation rate is high,the author's ability to absorb and use foreign language literature is strong,but the citation of Chinese is too narrow,and there should be more new-published citations.Overall the journal's publication quality is high,and is the authority and representative periodical of tumor discipline.
