Citation Analysis of Chinese Medical Equipment Journal from 1989 to 2008

Objective To find out the information usage in Chinese Medical Equipment Journal and to show the citation discipline and the literature demand distribution.Methods Using the bibliometrics method to calculate the amount of citation,language of citation,types of citations,price index,half-life,self-cited rate,and core cited journals in Chinese Medical Equipment Journal from 1989 to 2008.Results The citation rate is 43.76% with 2 citations for each paper is.The citations are mainly from journals,in which 3605 are from 1481 foreign journals,a percentage of 22.90%;7059 from 1440 Chinese journals,44.84% in total.The price index is 44.67% and the half-life is 4.36 years.1693 papers are self-cited with a self-cited rate of 10.75%.The title type of citation journal is 2921,in which 24 Chinese journals are cited more than 30 times;18 foreign journals more than 20 times.The 42 journals amount to 39.24% citations in total.Conclusion The citation rate of the journal is increase year by year.The citations are mainly from journals and the cited literatures are relatively new.The price index is relatively high and the self-cite rate is proper.Chinese Medical Equipment Journal is an important information source in the medical equipment research field in China.
