Abstract

Objective To investigate the drug resistance of clinical isolates during 2012 in the east of Sichuan, and provide the basis for clinical rational use of antimicrobial drugs. Methods Strain identification and drug susceptibility test were performed using an automatic analyzer or K- B method. Data were analyzed by using software WHONET 5. 6 according to CLSI 2012 criteria. Results A total of 15,656 bacterial isolates were collected during 2012,including 11534( 73. 7%) gram- negative bacterial strains and 4122( 26. 3%) gram- positive bacterial strains. The incidences of meticillin resistant S. aureus( MRSA) and coagulase negative staphylococcus( MRSCN) were 36. 6% and 73. 4%,respectively. No staphylococcal strain was found to have resistance to vancomycin or linezolid. There were 7. 8% of Enterococcus faecalis resistant to vancomycin, but no vancomycin resistant Enterococcus faecalis strain was found. The isolates of Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae were still highly sensitive to imipenem, amikacin,or Cefperazone- Sulbactam. Resistance rates of Pseudomonas aeruginosa to imipenem and meropenem were 20. 7% and 25. 2%,respectively. Resistance rates of Acinetobacter baumannii to imipenem and meropenem were 59. 0% and 86. 4%,respectively. Conclusions The drug resistance rates show a clear and rapid upward trend, which poses a serious threat to clinical therapy. Therefore,it is essential to use antibiotics rationally and to take more positive and effective prevention and control measures.
