Abstract
Objective To observe the clinical effect of warm acupuncture-moxibustion on spastic hemiplegia of stroke. Methods One hundred and sixty patients of limb spastic hemiplegic of stroke were randomly divided into treatment group and control group, the treatment group received warm acupuncture-moxibustion, the control group simply received electro-acupuncture. Both groups received the rehabilitation exercise therapy. Ashworth rating scale, Fugl-Meyer and Barthel index were accessed on baseline, 15 day and 30 day. Results The Ashworth scores of two groups decreased obviously after treatment. The upper limb Ashworth scores of two groups showed no significant difference (P 0.05) on 15 day. There was a significant difference (P 0.05) between the two groups on 30 day. The scores of Fugl-Meyer motor function and Barthel index of treatment group was significantly higher than contol group, there were significant differences (P 0.01) between two groups. Conclusion Warm acupuncture-moxibustion can ease spastic hemiplegia of stroke effectively.
