Application of practical study method in management skills training of new head nurses

Objective To explore the effects of practical study method applied in managerial skills training of new head nurses.Methods Eighteen new head nurses selected by competition in 2009 were chosen to receive the training by practical study method.And their ability of management before and after training were compared.Results The management skills of new head nurses were improved after the training except the expectation value of management training,time management and definite work objective(P0.01 or P0.05).Conclusion Application of practical study method in comprehersive management skills training of new head nurses may help the new head nurses to grasp the theory of management,and cultivate their practical ability of management,which should be applied widely.
