Abstract

Objective To investigate the changes in serum P-selectin and low density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C) concentrations and their significance in patients with acute coronary syndrome(ACS).Methods Automatic biochemical analyzer and ELISA method were used to measure the serum levels of LDL-C and P-selectin in 80 patients with ACS(ACS group),80 patients with stable angina pectoris(SAP group)and 80 healthy subjects(control group). Results Compared with control group, levels of P-selectin and LDL-C significantly increased in ACS group and SAP group(P0.05 or P0.01). Compared with SAP group, levels of P-selectin significantly increased in ACS group(P0.05).There were no significant differences in LDL-C levels between SAP group and ACS group(P0.05). P-selectin levels were positively correlated with LDL-C levels in ACS group(r =0.349, P 0.01).Conclusion Changes in serum P-selectin and LDL-C levels have important clinical significance in the occurrence and development of ACS. The increase in P-selectin levels can be used as the predictive index for ACS.
