Abstract

Objective To investigate the effects of amlodipine combined with benazepril in treatment of senior patients with essential hypertension. Methods 60 senior patients with essential hypertension enrolled from the inpatient and outpatient departments of our hospital were randomly divided into observation group and control group(30 in each group).Patients in the observation group were treated with Amlodipine and Benazepril for 8 weeks, and patients in the control group were treated with only Amlodipine. The clinical effect was observed. Results Diastolic and systolic blood pressure were significant lower than that of pre-treatment in the two groups(P0.01),there were significant differences of blood pressure between the two groups(P0.05),and there was significant difference in total efficacy between observation group(96.7%) and control group(83.3%)(P0.05).Conclusion The effects of Amlodipine combined with Benazepril are better than Amlodipine alone on blood pressure control with slight side effects.
