Effect of amlodipine besylate tablets combined with enalapril on the treatment of hypertension and influence on renal function

OBJECTIVE To observe the antihypertensive effect of amlodipine besylate tablet combined with enalapril on the treatment of essential hypertension in the elderly and their protection to the kidney.METHODS Combined with 96 elderly patients with high pressure were divided into two groups randomly.The control group was orally given with enalapril 5 mg·d-1 while the experimental group was orally given with amlodipine besylate tablet 5 mg·d-1 given with enalapril 5 mg·d-1.Comparison of the change of the blood pressure and the renal function between the two groups both pre and post treatment after 8 weeks' treatment was made.RESULTS There was great change(P0.05)between pre and post treatment of systolic pressure and the diastolic pressure in both groups.Comparing the post treatment of two groups,there was also significant difference(P0.05).The renal function turned good after the treatment of the experimental group with two kinds of medicine,and the difference was obvious(P0.05).CONCLUSION The use of CCB amlodipine besylate tablets combined with ACEI enalapril can lower the blood pressure obviously and provide protective effect to the kidney.
