Abstract

OBJECTIVE: To optimize the extraction technology of salvianolic acid B from Salvia miltiorrhiza. METHODS: The extraction technology of salvianolic acid B was optimized by orthogonal test with the content and the yield of salvianolic acid B as index and with the concentration and amount of ethanol, the times of reflux extraction and extraction time as factors. RESULTS: The optimum extraction process was as follows: 5-folds 80%ethanol, extracting for 2 times, each time 1 h, 29.13% of salvianolic acid B was available, yield of salvianolic acid was 6.14%. CONCLUSION: This method is simple and stable. It provides theoretical basis for industrial production.
