Abstract
Objective: Nano-hydroxyapatite-zirconia ceramic was tested by in vitro cytotoxicity as first step for future use of this material as dental implant. Methods: The fibroblasts of L929 mouse were cultured in extract of different materials for 1,4,7 days respectively and the changes of the cells were observed by microscope.The proliferation of the cells was examined using tetrazolium colorimetric assay. Results: During all culture periods,L929 cells showed normal morphology and proliferation increased with culture time.The toxicity gradation of all groups was 0-1. Conclusion: The results indicate that nano-hydroxyapatite-zirconia ceramic is compatible with the tested cells.
