Abstract
Objective:To study the antioxidative effect of mahonia. Methods: The mice were fed with Mahonia water decoction in different concentrations for four weeks, the blood samples from the orbit were collected and the SOD(Superoxide Dismatase) activity and MDA(Malondialdehyde) content serum of mice were measured by using SOD kit MDA kit. Results:Compared with the control group, the SOD activity in serum in the experiment groups was inereased, the MDA content was decreased. Conclusion:Mahonia has antioxidative effect by inereasing the SOD activity of serum and lowering the content of serum lipid peroxidation product MDA.
