Analysis on the self-consistency and congruency of the medical college students

ObjectiveTo explore characteristics and influencing factors of self-consistency and congruency of the medical college students,and to provide theoretical guidance for mental health promotion among college students.MethodsA total of 398 medical college students were investigated with Self-consistency and Congruence Scale(SCCS).ResultsScores of non-consistence,self-flexibility and self-stereotypy of students were not significantly different from the norm.Scores of self consistency and congruency showed no differences in gender and whether being the only child or not,but scores in male students were significantly higher than that of female students in the self-stereotype(P0.01).Scores of self-consistency and congruency decreased significantly with the increase of grade(P0.01).ConclusionThe level of self consistency and congruency are high among medical students,while the male students were higher than the female students in self-stereotype.And the levels of self-consistency and congruency were increasing with the increase of grade.
