Study on Tourism Competitiveness Evaluation of Beijing Metropolitan Area Cities

Abstract

On the basis of combing the research on city tourism competitiveness at home and abroad,this paper builds the urban tourism competitiveness model including the competitiveness index of tourism resources,tourism industry,tourism economy,urban economy,and urban environment. The results show that: The 10 cities of Beijing metropolitan area have significant difference in tourism competitiveness. There's obvious hierarchy among these cities. Beijing and Tianjin have prominent tourism competitiveness,respectively belong to the first-level and second-level. The rest cities which belong to Hebei Province are in the third and fourth level,with a big gap between them and the two major cities of Beijing and Tianjin. From the perspective of single elements of competitiveness in tourism,it shows that regional environmental competitiveness is relatively balanced,while regional tourism industry competitiveness has the biggest gap among these ten cities and tourism competitiveness unbalance within the region is significant.
