Abstract
The earthquake resistance of Chinese rural buildings is commonly low,after Wenchuan 5.12 Earthquake,the heavy losses make relative departments pay attention to the safety of the rural buildings,and the causes of the earthquake damages and some problems existed in the rural buildings are studied and analyzed,as well as the damage mechanism of the buildings,in order to raise the people's safety knowledge in rural areas.The results indicate that the safety construction measures should be used and the wooden frameworks should be widely popularized in rural buildings.
