Abstract

Objective To study the expression and role of β-catenin and APC in cervical squamous cell carcinoma and cervical intraepithelial neoplasia. Methods The expression of β-catenin and APC protein was detected using immunohistochemistry in 30 cases of cervical squamous cell carcinoma,50 cases of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia, and 24 cases of normal cervix tissue. Results ①The abnormal expression of β-catenin and APC in normal cervical mucosa,CIN and cervical squamous cell carcinoma among the three groups were significantly different(P0.05).②The positive rate of β-catenin and APC among CIN1,CIN2,CIN3 was not statistically significant(P0.05).But the difference ofβ-catenin between low-level CIN and high-level CIN is significant(P0.05).③A significantly positive relationship was observed between β-catenin and APC protein expression in cervical carcinoma(P0.05).Conclusion β-catenin protein and APC protein are appeared in the abnormal expression in the CIN and cervical carcinoma. They play a certain role in the cervical carcinoma occurrence and development.
