Abstract
Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy of ceftazidime in treating hospital acquired pneumonia(HAP). Methods: 70 patients with HAP were randomly divided into treatment group and control group.35 patients in treatment group were therapied with 2.0 g ceftazidime given by intravenous drip twice a day for 10~14 d; 35 patients in control group were therapied with 2.0 g kefadim by the same usage. Results: There was no significant difference between ceftazidime and kefadim group in clinical effective rate (88.6%, 94.3%) and bacterial clearance rate (83.9%, 83.3%). No obvious adverse effect occurred. Conclusions: Ceftazidime can be applied to treat HAP effectively and safely as an ideal broad-spectrum antibiotic.
