The Research of English Glossary Teaching Based on Cognitive Metaphor Theory

Abstract

The meaning of words are evolved by means of metaphors.As a link between cognition and language,metaphor plays an indispensable role in vocabulary teaching.Through elaborating the cognitive metaphor theory,this paper attempts to discuss the application of this theory into English glossary teaching in order to enhance its teaching efficiency.
