Abstract

The meaning of words are evolved by means of metaphor.Because metaphor is not only a kind of rhetorical device but also a universal way of thinking.Metaphor plays an important role in the acquisition of vocabulary.The paper beginning from introduces the conceptual metaphor theory,analyzes the feasibility and effectiveness of its application in English vocabulary teaching and raise some methods for improve English vocabulary teaching.
