Abstract

Objective To discuss the general pattern and the characteristics of gatifloxatin induced ana- phylactic shock. Methods A total of 189 gatifloxatin induced anaphylactic shock cases (including 179 reports in the statistical database of the National Center for ADR Monitoring and 10 cases reported in the domestic periodicals)were statistically classified and analyzed. Results Gatifloxatin induced anaphy- lactic shock was independent of sex and age. Intravenous administration has caused most of the ADR cases(97.4%).A large proportion of anaphylactic shock was immediate type(65.8%).There were no death. The referred production enterprise are many, and has not presented the production enterprise and the production batch number centralized phenomenon. Conclusion Attention should be paid to severe adverse drug reaction in the clinic. Strengthen the rational use of drug in clinic, and reduce the pro- portion of intravenous administration.
