Abstract
In the presence of cationic surfactant cetyltrimethylammonium bromide(CTMAB),reaction conditions and photometric properties of p-chlorophenylfluorone(p-CPF) with zinc were studied. The results showed that the molar ratio of zinc and p-CPF in the red complex was 1∶1,the maximum absorption wavelength of p-CPF-Zn-CTMAB complex was 568 nm and the apparent molar absorptivity was 7.20×104 L\5mol-1\5cm-1 in the buffer solution(pH 8.4 of Na2HPO4-KH2PO4).The red complex was stable for 10 hours at least.Beer's law was obeyed when the content of zinc was in the range of 0~2.40 μg/5mL.The developed method has been applied to the determination of trace zinc in the medicine with satisfactory results.
