Abstract

Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of the implantation of verisyse iris-claw phakic intraocular lens(IOL)for high myopia. Methods Eight cases(12 eyes)of high myopia with-18D~-27.5D received Verisyse iris-claw phakic intraocular lens(IOL)implantation. All patients were followed up for 3~6months and the uncorrected visual acuity, the best corrected visual acuity, the intraocular pressure were observed. Results All 12 eyes were implanted successfully.Postoperative uncorrected vision was better than to preoperative best corrective vision(P 0.05).There were no significant differences between preoperative and 3m postoperative mean intraocular pressure(P 0.05).Postoperatively,the mean cell density change was 4.41%±0.18% at 3m.No severe complication occurred in 3 to 6m after operations. Conclusions Implantation of Verisyse iris-claw phakic intraocular lens is a safe and effective procedure for highly myopic patients and the long-term follow up is needed.
