Abstract

Objective: To observe the refractive results after implantation of Verisyse iris-claw phakic IOL for high myopia.Methods: From January 2005,21 eyes in 13 patients with-10.5~-29.0 diopters(D) of myopia,-0.75~-5.0D of astigmatism were operated implantation of verisyse iris-claw phakic IOL.Results: In all of 21 eyes the implantations were successfully by followed-up for 3 months.33.3% of eyes achieved uncorrected visual acuity(UCVA)≥1.0,42.9% of eyes achieved the best corrected visual acuity(BCVA)≥1.0,and 66.7% postoperative near vision had been improved.The post-operative BCVA of every eye was not worse than the pre-operative one.The mean refractive diopters were-17.73±2.1 D pre-operatively and-2.65±3.78 D post-operatively.There were no significant differences between pre operative and 3 months postoperative mean counts of endothelial cells,mean intraocular pressure and anterior chamber depth(P0.05),respectively.Conclusion: The implantation of Verisyse iris-claw phakic IOL for high myopia is safe and effective,which still need a long period time to observe in clinic.
