Abstract

Objective To observe the effect of combination of traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine on osteoarthritis of the knee(KOA).Methods 112 patients with KOA were randomly allocated treatment group and control group. The patients of treatment group were treated by combination of traditional Chinese medicine(Scalpel lysis) and western medicine(joint cavity flushing, sodium hyaluronate injection and traditional Chinese medicine iontophoreisis). The patients of control group were treated by joint cavity flushing and sodium hyaluronate injection. The course was 5 weeks in two groups. Results The cure rate and total effective rate of treatment group were 17.86% and 92.85 %,the control group was 5.36 %and 76.79 %.The cure rate and total effective rate of treatment group were better significantly than control group. There were statistical significance(P0.05).The quantitative classification scores of clinical signs and symptoms in treatment group were lower than the control group after treatment(P0.05).Conclusion Combination of traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine can obtain perfect effectiveness in a short time on treating KOA,which it is effectiveness and,and it's difficult to recrudescence. So it's worthy of popularization in clinic.
