Abstract
Objective To explore the clinical significance of urine cystatine C detection in kidney disease. Methods The concentrations of serum and urine cystatin C, β2-microglobulin were measured in 52 patients with kidney disease and 30 healthy volunteers (control group) by enzyme immunometric assy, and serum creatinine, urea, urine creatinine and 24h urine total protein were measured by Hitachi 7060 biochemistry analyzer. Results Urine cystatin C, β2-MG, urine cystatin C /g Cr and urine β2-MG /g Cr in 15 patients with tubulointerstitial nephropathy(TIN) were significantly higher than those of orther kidney disease. Urine cystatin C, β2-MG, urine cystatin C /g Cr and urine β2-MG /g Cr in the patient group were significantly higher than those of control group. Conclusions The high urine cystatin C concentration can refelect tubular injury, which has important clinical significance.
