Feng Shen or airs as used to describe a person's elegant demeanour and mien, is the artistic expression of the inherent characteristics of literary works. It is the overall artistic aesthesia, emphasizing beyond articulation and images and exuding artistic power to induce readers into boundless imagination. Taking on “feng sheng or “airs as the epitome of the character of Tang Poetry, this lecture intends to expound the quintessence of Tang poetry, highlight the differences between Tang and Song Poetry, and analyse the status of Tang Poetry in the history of Chinese Poetry.
