Brief Discussion on the Innovation of SHU Shi's Poems

This paper reviews comprehensively the advantages of the innovation of SHU Shi's poems from different perspectives such as subject matter,theme,conception and narration as opposed to the rebuke on his innovation in poetry in the past dynasties.It makes an initial analysis of the dispute on Tang poetry and Song Poetry which conforms to historical view.It is believed that Song Dynasty is the most successful and fruitful in poetry after Tang Dynasty.The achievement of Song poetry lies in not following the tradition of Tang poetry.All the Tang poetry schools after Song Dynasty which follow Tang's tradition achieve far less than Song poetry.As a result,SHU Shi is not a failure who reverses the ancient poetry tradition,but a success who creates Song poetry——another peak in poetry after Tang poetry.
