Abstract

Objective To study the influence of Helicobacter pylori (HP) on heat shock protein 60 (HSP^o) in patients with peptic ulcer. Methods HP clearance was investigated, and HSP60 in serum and gastric mucosa was assayed by Western dot blot. Results Compared with control group, the contents of HSP60 before treatment increased significantly in HP negative( P 0.05) and HP positive patients ( P 0.01); after treatment, HSP60 content was higher in HP positive patients than in HP negative and HP eradicated patients ( P 0.05); there was no sisnificant difference between the latter two groups ( P 0.05). Conclusions HP infection promotes the expression of HSP60, and HP clearance decreases the expression, thus correlation existing between HP and HSP60.
